Raised in downtown St. Johns, Newfoundland, Murray Brokenshire began with an aerosol can in hand. Disinterested in the institutionalized education system, Murray dropped out of high school and channelled a potentially destructive energy through grafitti & paintings. Shortly after moving out west, he started painting with artists who inspired him to transition into more fine art traditions that lead him to tattooing. Murray completed his apprenticeship in Montreal before moving to Ottawa, where he presently works out of Blueblood Custom Tattoo Studio. Murray also currently collaborates with the artists' collective clothing company DIY or DIE, based out of Fernie, BC.
Brokenshire signature piece, the infinite skull, epitomizes not only an uniqueness within Murray's artistic genre, but also his attempt to express the transcendent nature of art itself.
