Alysha Farling - Installations

Currently living in Victoria, BC, Alysha Farling holds a BFA from Concordia University. She has exhibited internationally, and has held residencies in Canada and Argentina. Her installation Wanderlust was featured in Sweet & Sour at PDA Projects in 2014, and a compilation of her sketchbook drawings and notes titled States of Homes was published by PDA Press in 2015.

Fascinated with miniature worlds, Alysha Farling’s sculptures explore the beautiful decay of enchanted environments. Her latest sculptures continue to explore issues of domesticity, substance abuse, identities and what is a home.. Her admitted challenge is to relocate a sense of fantasy or magic into the sculptures; Farling says, “as a kid, magic was easy to locate, but now I am finding it difficult…When I talk about magic I am also including the dark and the strange – the tingly, the scary and the unexplainable.”
